Welcome one and all to the home of the GM IDI engine family; the genesis of the GM light duty mass produced Diesel powerplant the "little engines that can", from which the DMAX concept was spawned, treat em right and they can do some great things; with some help from some folks here, we'll get you up & running in no time, and then help keep them running right.

does an idit 7.3 count?

minisub

I think you will find most 6.5ers have a lot of respect for the 7.3, pre-DI is all the better as it shares many of the same handicaps...:)

I have always liked the 7.3 everyone i know with them dont seem to have many problems with them but the transmission in those early 7.3 fords is a different story. ;)

Only so many hours in a day, my new job eats most of them, I don't work from home anymore; so any time I have free to post is usually spent at DTR

You have any more pics of your truck Deere so i can get a better look at how the stack looks. Looks like you can make that old 6.5 to smoke pretty good.

We need to get some tech stuff started in the 6.5 forum. So more 6.5 people will think its worthwhile joining up. What do you all think would it be a good idea?

I just joined today and I wanted to join in. My son has a 97 2 door Tahoe, 6.5 Turbo as a daily driver. It currently has about 320,000 miles on it and it has been a great truck for us.
