Dyno day January 24th

Hey guys in trying to put together a dyno day for us dmaxes and the cummins forum.

The place where i was thinking of having the dyno day at was here: www.bartlingenterprise.com

They have a in-ground dyno wide enough to accomadate a dually. I know the owner reallly good, and i am always there.

I am just trying to figure out how many AZ members would like to have a turn to spin the rollers :thumb:

Cost and Day have yet TBD.

I will have to see if you can run your car, im trying to get this as a diesel event only. Takes more time to setup a dyno for a gasser ex A/F ratio.

Price is $40 for 3 runs.
And yes, the dyno is wide enough to accomadate a dually with all the tires on the truck.

As for new years, i might be at the dunes with friends, not 100% sur eyet.

I didnt need a LP untill i ran a 13.6ish, but keep in mind im pushing my fuel through 2 filters instead of one.

Newly was running a PPE pump for awhile. I have had no problems with my tts pumps and you have to know what your looking for to see them. They are about the size of a peanut butter cap

PPE 160gph is plenty. FASS 200gph is for 800hp+ trucks. Im running a FASS 150gph and i dont starve for fuel @ 600rwhp. I can get you a PPE pump for 230.00 or a FASS 150/150 for 580.00.

Your probably in the 450hp range still so either one of those will work fine.

I just spoke with Brian.
Seems like there are gonna be a lot of hungry guys there so I'm planning on bringing my trailer for a "camp kitchen". I was thinking of grilling and cooking in some of my Dutch ovens.

I'm thinking:

Beer Brats (my wife is from Wisconsin)
Big pot of chili

I might even do breakfast depending on how it's looking as time gets closer. Who likes pancakes? :D

I've had a few request recently for some custom tunes from guys that don't have their own tuners. I'll have my EFILive at this event and if you want a custom tow tune, I'll do it for $150. (It costs me $100 just to get the license to tune your truck) I have some nice tow tunes for all duramax engine models. I can also make custom changes like tire size corrections or EGR shutoff, etc. if you want. If you are looking for a race tune, I'm not your guy. I've spent my time making nice tow tunes that also have some mileage gains. Let me know in advance so I know how many licenses to buy prior to the event. Also, let me know what kind of custom things (if any) you want. These tow tunes make nice daily drivers. I've tuned several guys trucks here and they can post up their thoughts if they like. I know my daily driver is my tow tune, and I think Brian runs my tow tune as his DD.

And I have a huge cooler I'll bring with ice for drinks.

Ketchup/mustard type of condiments (I was going to buy the big restuarant stye ones at costco)
Napkins
Chips (I was gonna buy some "grab bag" packages at costco)
Anything else you want.

If anyone wants to help out, just post up what you would like to bring.

There is NO obligation. Don't feel you NEED to bring anything! Whatever is not spoken for, I'll buy it and bring it myself. (I was planning on it anyway , but since some guys asked, here is what I was planning on bringing if you wanted to help.)

I will say that i am running one of Daves tow tunes and i love it, if it werent for my trans id be having fun with people.

Before this one i ran a smaller one from him and both pull like a freight train in the higher gears if you want to pass someone on the highway and do real well with DD to have plenty of fun.

Correct i am running daves tow tune as my DD. It made 380ish hp, so thats still good for a DD tune.

The one you and I are running is for towing with a built trans. I wouldn't load that one on someones truck that had a stock trans. (unless they really wanted me to...:D) I have smaller ones for stock trans trucks.

Really? That's odd. EFI and PPE access the ECM pretty much the same. I would amuse if you cant load a EFI tune then you wouldn't be able to load a PPE tune unless the tune was corrupt or something. Whos tunes are you loading that are giving you problems. Also have you loaded any tune that say there copy righted before allowing?

Every tune ive tried has done it before and now and than I get lucky and it goes in... the problem is taking it out, it rejects half way coming out or half way going into the truck... I never once had a problem with my PPE... So, ive got no idea whats wrong...

As of now, they will be doing it. Liability reasons are the main reason, and a 50K dyno is the other.
Ive had no problems when i dyno there.

basically if your truck blow its not his fault. a dyno is less stress than the 1/4 so you should be ok.

Ive been up to 4400rpm under power on their dyno, and ive been fine, its only a few seconds and i rarely get passed 1200*

Got brand new up-pipe gaskets in last night........hit 46psi with the a5k. Still got a little tick tick noise. Im going to replace the manifold gaskets/manifold to up-pipe gaskets tonight and see if i can get her sealed up completely.-:t I didnt have time to get my modded cp3 on since ive been messing with the exhaust all week.:mad:

Cool, you wouldnt believe how much time and money i put into my truck for this event. I finally took the headers off and put my stock ones on, replaced all the gaskets, got it sealed up tight, new tunes, new turbo, dyna matted the fire wall.... radiator cracked internally and fluid went into my trans Thursday, got a new radiator, put it in, had trans full flush.... My trans is now toast from the coolant.

Oh well, its going to ATS Monday night for a new one. I have a ford with us that is running pretty good, he hung side by side with us just now and im in a 02 dmax with built trans, EFI, FASS and few more goodies. The Ford wasnt able to get his new tune's from Tadd in time:mad: He put 90hp injectors in last night but still has same tune from before. Sucks.

Hey guys, I just wanted to thank everyone that was able to show up. The turnout was great for all three diesels, and the duramax crowd was well represented.

Duramax took 2nd and 3rd.

They dyno'd over 30 trucks and we fed over 70 guys/gals. :thumb:

That's a pretty good turnout for an Az diesel event.

Special thanks to Brian for putting this thing together, Newly for donating the plaques and gathering donations from ATS for the winners, and Brett for being the photographer for the day. I'll post up pics from the event hopefully by tomorrow.

No, they never could get the second turbo to fully light. He only made something like 84 lbs of boost when he usually sees somewhere around 120 lbs at the track. Even with the troubles, he still pulled out plenty for 1st place. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I'm sure someone else will chime in with them.

Glad I finally got my rig on the dyno for the first time. Now I have a good idea of where I stand. Thanks guys for all of the work to put this day together. Great pics too. I enjoyed finally putting names with faces. Oh and next time Brian....don't forget the ketchup and mustard HA! HA!:)

We got 498hp out of a 02 LB7 that had a ATS trans, FASS150 and EFI thanks to the help from TurboTug and a "mystery tuner" LOL 04' Powerstroke put 445hp down. Im hoping to take my truck down next weekend for the Dodge Cummins dyno event.....anyone else want to come?):h
