Well I made the 2.5 Hour drive to Harrison Diesel in Harrison, Arkansas last night.. Finally got the stack on. Its a bit longer than I had planned, so I might take it back off and shorten it a couple inches. All in all I REALLY like it. There is minimal drone in the cab. Its worst between 68-73 mph. @ 75mph, you cant even hear the truck running, and at Idle.. its very quiet. Anyone with a 6" single on a straight pipe have theirs shorter? Id like to know if there is much incab sound difference..
Heres a couple pics

Here they were messing around with an extra piece, and a turnout.. I figured that looked riduculous, plus would not be drive thru friendly.. ):h
We called this the "Bird Raper"

Thanks guys, luckily its setup to where I can loosen the clamp in the bed and drop it about 4-5" .. I will do that tonight and see how it sounds in the cab..
I think shorter would look better as well.. Just wanted to hear some like minded DMAX guys say the same thing. Gotta remember, the shop that installed it, does 99.9% Cummins work.. and a few powerjokes. ):h

No it was just plain steel..
We made the cut on a bandsaw, and it came out perfect. All I did was prep the surface with some good cleaner, and a 3M abrasive pad, and used some 2000* Ceramic coating in a can for headers. I used the Ceramic primer, and re-prepped it, and then 4 coats of the Flat Black Ceramic Coating. I think I will buy a couple cans of the Gloss Black and re-do it, and Lower it all at the same time.. Possibly this weekend if it will stay over 32 * outside.. My shops heater is VERY inferior right now.. ):h

Ok, well I broke out the cutoff wheel last night, with the aid of my brother in law, we sucseefully cut off 8 3/8" from the old stack height.. Here are some updated photos. I like it ALOT more. what do ya'll think?

It barely peeks over the top of the cab..

Here was the process.. a lil duct tape, and a pencil mark, then out came the cutoff wheel..

Maybe cut a couple more inches off.
I agree, just a little lower would be perfect.

1045Here is one of our 6" stacks we made for a customer. When I say we, I mean Up Country Fab. A friend of mine and I own the business. We build custom stacks for people. Usually we are building 8" stacks, but ocasionally we build some 6" and even 7" stacks.

That is sweet! how loud is it in the truck?

Not to loud at all. I have been in this truck a number of times, and I don't think it is really that loud. It is straight piped from the turbo back. The owner has never complained of any drone or noise that would be anoying. If you think that is sweet you should see our 8" systems. They are the bomb, and yes they are loud.
