What do you mean when you unload it? When you flash a new tune, you just open it and write it with the narrow red arrow. Can you specifically tell me how you load a tune in? Ill try to help you anyway I can. Ill prolly be at the Dyno coming up an can help you so dont give up quite yet :Handshake:

I use the one with the narrow red arrow, go through the stuff it asks me and than it will start going in, right after it unlocks the ECM it will go one more step(most the time) and than a red writing comes up telling me there is an error and to turn the ignition off for 15 sec, I do that and than try again, and again, and again... after getting no luck I try starting the truck and absolutly nothing happens(no clicking of the ignition etc.)

I haven't seen that one before.

Paul doesn't have a fix for it?

Nemo
01-18-2009, 12:44 AM
Nope, we talked for almost a week and no solution, closest to a solution we came to was "For some reason we have been having trouble with LLY's"(paul)... the dealership is able to reflash my truck but I cant with EFI... my PPE and Hypertech both worked fine.

Nemo,

Sequence of events matters. Try this is you haven't already.
1. With the truck key off and removed, Bring up your computer, but don't open any programs. (reboot the PC if you haven't done so already)
2. Connect the OBDII port from the V2 to the truck
3. Turn the truck key to the "on" position (I always turn off the headlights, A/C system/ radio at this point)
4. Connect the V2 to the PC via USB.
5. Bring up EFILive program on computer
6. Open file you want to flash.
7. Flash file using the red down arrow button.

I've had trucks that would give me errors and if I shut everything down, including reboot the computer and then do these steps in order, I've never had one that wouldn't go through. I'd be happy to look at it with you at the dyno event.

BTW, what exact version of EFILive SW do you have? (Help : About) What version and build?

Also, might help to try another ecm. That way you can keep one working instead of returning to the dealer. ;)

Are you saying the truck is dead now? Can you not even start it any longer?

We need to determine if the issue is vehicle/ECM related or FlashScan/PC related.

In the thread on our forum, Ross has asked if Nemo can read another vehicle and see what happens.

Cheers

Before you turn someone elses ECM into a brick I would try the following to isolate.
Get with one of us here in the valley that has EFILive. Since the problem happens even on a read, you can try the following.
1. Try and read your ECM with their V2 and laptop (takes both your laptop and V2 out of the equation. If it's still a problem, then that points to your ECM.
2. Try and read with your Laptop and their V2. That takes only your V2 out.
3. Try and read with their laptop and your V2. Takes out your laptop.
One of those three should isolate the problem without risking anyone elses ECM.

I'll do it if you are gonna be out in East Mesa.

You've never had the truck go to a "no start" condition after reading it only have you? I don't see how this could happen...

Nemo, what was your previous tuner before EFI LIVE ? And did it tell you to set the emergency brake before tuning? If so, get on level ground and do not set your brake and tune with V2 again. Try this when you have local buddy support, cause you sure don't want to pay for another tow bill. It may sound silly to you but it just might be the problem.

Ive got the OS saved in a few places and all tunes I try to put in are the same OS thats in the truck...

PPE Hot+2 E.T. I think ive used my e-brake once maybe twice since ive had my truck... and Ive been going to the dealership when I try to reflash so they cant just push it in or hook it up...

I am going to let MMLMM or HondaRider flash it,if it goes in than im doing somthing wrong, if it doesnt go in,aw well no big deal...
