Would i have to recharge the air conditioner if i disconnect the lines from the compressor?

The reason i ask is cause i am at a point in removing things on the motor that i need it out of the way and the only way to get it off the truck is to disconnect the lines and pull it out.

Yes. IIRC you can do the water pump without removing the ac. Take another look at it.:)

You might be able to leave the lines hooked up and unbolt the compressor and move it enough to remove what ever you need.

Yeah I don't know what your doing but I didn't have to unbolt the A/C):h

Well i am changing my water pump and it was getting later in the day when i got to that part so i am not exactly sure if i need to pull it off but in any case i figured a way to get it out of the way without unhooking the lines.

Tomorrow after work i am going to take better look at everything and start fresh.
