Obtaining licenses

I have used both the licenses my EFILive came with. I was at the track this weekend talking with some people and I was going to offer to throw a small tow tune in one of the guys trucks (he bought a handheld programmer and wasn't happy with it) but I realized I already used both my licenses and don't know how to get another... I know it's ~$100 but how do you go about actually obtaining a new license?

Dave I believe you can call Nick(duramaxtuner) and get one over the phone. I believe it is just a validation code.

All EFILive vendors can sell you a license. My suggestion is you "plan" your purchase to account for time/day differences between yourself and our New Zealand office where licenses are issued.

FYI, it's currently 1pm Wednesday afternoon in NZ.

License orders are checked and processed periodically during the day, however this is less frequent over weekends and obviously not at all in the middle of the night; which in some parts of the US could be mid morning. Best suggestion is to allow 24 hours and ensure your SPAM filter will accept EFILive emails.

Soon we will launch a new website and license ordering will be instant provided your CC and other details are valid.

Yes. When you buy EFILive, your system will come with two VIN licenses, giving you the ability to program two control modules per VIN. (Engine Control Module and Transmission Control Module) Each Vehicle that you program will take one license. You can purchase additional licenses if you choose for $99 per license.

I bought mine direct from their site. I had the link to update the next morning. You need your laptop with the tuner attached. You download their info along with some numbers from your tuner, they walk you through it in the e-mail, very easy.

For 90% of orders this will make life SO much easier, however there will always be that 10% of people who key in the wrong email address, or wrong Auth code etc. Because we need to "clear" the funds first then issue the code, if you get it wrong, you'll have to wait for the office to be "attended" to have it resolved.

How will this new strategy affect resellers and the distribution network? On the surface it seems that it would be more convenient for the end user to bypass his selling dealer.

It's exactly the same way as it works now - customers choose to order direct or via their dealer. Dealers gain the convience too - you have a customer call you, you log on while you're on the phone and place the order. A few minutes later you have the code in your inbox.
