Got the Gt4094R Installed today so far so good. Once the tranny sorts itself out it should be awesome):h

I can now hear the turbo from the exhaust and it sounds throatier at WOT.
I also like that I can hear the turbo spinning after the truck is shut off.

A big thanks to Brian and Brandon I couldn't have done it without you. :beerchug:

Good work guys. I can't wait to see that truck at the track now Kevin. I'm sure the new DmaxCentral.com sticker is worth 30HP too. ):h

No problem kevin, now i'll know how to install mine ):h

The project wasnt really that bad, just time consuming, but with the 3 of us working, we took under 8 hours total, and thats including running to del taco for lunch

Boost tube and passenger side pedistal bolts were fun....

I'm pretty sure there were a few moments when he thought it wasn't gonna happen...but he was all grins when it spooled on the first test drive!!

His wife even likes how it sounds. Which I think really kept her from killing us when she found half her knife set on the garage floor and me in kitchen boiling boost tubes.):h

Glad I could help!:thumb:

Hey I know that turbo from some were lol, Easy install just harder getting the old one off lol.The LBZ is alot easier with not having the dang bolt on factory down pipe,When we first installed this turbo on my truck from start to finish it was around 6hrs.

I think the only new stuff we had to go get was heater hose for the coolant and hose clamps.

How was the drive to work today Kevin?

KEVINL

It was pretty fun. Once it gets going it takes off like a batt out of hell. It seems like if I just floor it off the line or from Low Rpm's it takes a while to spool but if I am easier on the pedal at first it spools faster and then I can floor it.

Just finished installing the boost gauge

31 pounds seems to be the average with a peak of 36-37 after shifts for some reason it is defueling hard on the 4-5 shift all the way down to 20 pounds I could feel it when I was driving it today

Also Egt's climb to 1650 then drop to 1400

The stock turbo just hit 1600 and stayed there

Id have brandon grab your stock trans file and see what the shift speed and shift rpm is in the 4-5 shift.

Hmmm..

We'll have to log it to see what's going on. It didn't lay down like that on the 4-5 before did it?

Your scan gauge reads boost too right? Was it's reading similar to your new gauge?

I don't think it did at least not that much.

The scangauge won't read high enough to compare the numbers.

The boost is fine at 32PSI I would rather have the motor last I am not trying to blow it up like Henry):h

If I can run consistent 12.5's I will be happy

We should still get some logs of it to see why it's laying down for 4-5. That won't help you get to 12s. Have you tried getting on it in NOT in T/H?

I don't think I have tow haul helps the turbo spool because it is not so eager to upshift. I will try it tonight. It sure is nice getting to 100MPH on the onramp to the freeway;)

KEVINL
02-24-2009, 10:23 PM
It still does it w/o tow haul on

Once you get over the first few weeks that will level out for you, Around town I got 14 to 16 on the hwy around 20 all the time, When we went to smokin in the smokies I kept track of my miles and how much fuel I used and down and back home around town there alot of big burn out and the dyno I was at 21 area.I kept track of miles with my gps and mpg was down by hand not what the dash reads.
