What does it mean when your torque converter is balloning?
Converter ballooning is when the conv actually expands in size ( usually .040+). This is usually attributed to extreme high pressure in the converter due to the pressure regulator valve not moving off its seat or stuck. Thin wall converters such as Ford converters balloon because of lack of proper thickness in the walls. High rpm can also cause ballooning in a converter. When a converter does this it can drop a washer out of place internaly which never falls back into place when the converter retracts;carnage is a result.
