View Full Version : Strange Vibration at Idle

I did a search before posting and it turned up nothing similar.

I have a strange vibration coming from seems to be the rear of the engine on the drivers side. The vibration can be heard and felt (very slightly) the most at cold startup and when the air conditioning is on. When the engine is hot, and the a/c is off it cannot be felt or heard. Although similar, it doesn't feel like it could be the brakes as i had the brakes go out on me before. I have no idea what it could be. I cant really hear anything different from the outside the truck. It will go away under throttle. This only happens at idle.


Anyone have any ideas?

Since you posted in the 3rd gen. section, I'm assuming it's a 06 LLY or LBZ engine? Is it stock, or have you done aftermarket mods to it? Stock tuning?

Cuz i have a harmonic disturbance at idle, only when the motor is cold that i can feel in the cab.

Maybe it's the subwoofer):h I know mine vibrates a tad:thumb:

Can you describe it? Does it come on when the motor is hot and the a/c is on?

Only when coolant is cold, and in park. kinda like a slow pulsing

I found the problem, I took a look under the hood today and found a small crack on the mounting bracket for the dual CP3, it sounds like its hitting something else.
