not sure if this would belong here but i did not see a specific exhaust thread. i threw a cat delete pipe on tha truck tuesday night and cut my muffler off and i gotta say BAD FRIGGIN A$$. that is one mean soundin truck. i was thinkin about a 5 inch turbo back straight pipe exhaust but hearing this thing with the delete pipe and being cut right behind the cab i think i want stacks plus that is just one seriously sinister, down to business look. any thoughts of which brand to choose from and where to get the best deal?

Moved to fuel, air and exhaust upgrades.

James, since you are actually asking about stacks, you might want to re-title the thread...

I think MBRP makes a good quality product. I reccomend you check with one of our vendors. St.Joseph Diesel http://dmaxcentral.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=106

How hot is hot? I dont think they will be as hot as you think but they will definately be warm.

well i sure dont want wnything touchin them and melting or catchin fire plus i dont want to see the "t" in the bed. mbrp sells a consealer plate that is diamond plate and i like the look. but as far as how hot i think they get i have no idea but a buddy of mine has them on his 6.0 powerstroke and they got so hot they warped slightly so he says and i seen the spot he is talking abuot. but hold on now, that was over a 30 hour trip so im sure somethin will happen over that amount of time being at that amount of heat. im guessin around 8-900 degrees is that how hot they get under normal driving?

I had a cummins and it was nothing to see 2000* on the pyro. Of course that wasnt for an extended period of time but I never had any trouble. The stacks were stainless though so that may have helped.
I used to jump out of the truck and go put my hand on the stacks and I was suprised at how cool they were. That diamond plate cover is still a good idea though.

I saw that Grand Rock is making a single kit for our trucks. It seemed very affordable at about 200.00 including the three foot tip. I'm thinking about getting it later this summer.

that would look great on a dually! I only have a 2500 so single stack is what I'll probably do.

James, if you are doing a 4" lift with 22.5's on your dually, I think 5" would look to small. Your truck is going to look huge and I wouldn't consider anything smaller than 6". JMO.
