starting question???

hey my 06 is haveing a wired problem about 6 months ago the starter made a grinding noise like it didnt engage the flywheel but i let off the key and tried it again and it was all good truck started no problem then about a week ago it did it again but same result let off and tried it again and it started right up keep it mind bolth of these times the truck had been started sevral times in the day before this problem happned then tonight i pulled up to a drive thru and shut it off made my order and then tried to restart but same thing grinding noise let off tried again and started just fine now it just got me conserend cuz its happened twice now the same week could it be the started getting weak and not engageing fully or the fly wheel worn down on one spot??? bty truck is a 06 with 110k miles on her and as far as i know oringinal everything starter batt ect any help would be app thanx guys:thumb:

Might want to check the starter bolts to the motor, I just lost the bottom one and it broke the top ear off and poped the starter out all it was doing is zing zing.

dam man that sucks anyway i did what u said and checked the bolts and they were tight so it might be the starter selonid getting weak and not fully engageing cuz it does have over 100k on her :thumb:

hey wasson it could be your flywheel teeth starting to get eatin up too happened on my blazer kinda hard to say tho

Sounds like you have the same problem that is found mostly on LLY engines. Here is a link to a discussion on this frustrating problem.
