I have read post in the past with people looking for do it yourself coatings for pedestals or manifolds. I'm posting my experience with a product made by VHT. It is called Flameproof silica-ceramic coating. It is a 2000+ degree coating. I have used it on my exhaust manifold and turbo pedestal and have had very good results with it not burning off. It is cheap and comes in a variety of colors. It can be purchased at Carquest Auto Parts. Hope this helps with people trying to find viable ways to improve their trucks.

Just make sure it is free from oxidation and contaminants. I prepped and wiped down with mineral spirits before painting
