I was showing off to some guys at the local tire shop today, doing burnouts.

When I left off, it barks the turbo several times with the PPE Hot +2 on the 350 hp setting.

Is anyone else seeing that when they run big tunes?

No way around it with a big tune ! that is why I run a BOV !

You guys with the built engines and big turbos have all of the cool stuff! :D

I am getting closer to that turbo upgrade, but with that comes the headstuds, rods, pistons, etc...

I am still trying to recover financially from the kitchen remodel that my built tranny ended up costing me. You married guys know what I mean.

HAHA, it's all a trade off. I bet you like those meals that come out of that new kitchen though! Is there not an easy way to install a bov without changing out the turbo? I thought banks made something for this?

BOV can be installed without doing anything to the turbo !

IMO running WOT with a big tune and stock turbo, then letting off quick, you run the chance of barking.

Several different things can cause turbo bark. You just need a little time and you can learn how to drive without doing it. When I did my first turbo upgrade, I barked it a couple times until I figured it out.

BD is the only place that makes them. SuperDiesel was going to but by the time he was done he said that it was a wash in cost. Its not a cheap mod ! About $750 when your all said and done , but neither is a $4000 turbo kit !

not to try and jack this thread but when you say turbo bark you mean the kind of coughing sound from the engine bay right? my truck is stock tune and parts for now except for the cat delete pipe and i get no sound from the engine bay but i do hear the sound of a huge blow off valve from the exhaust. it sounds bad ass and i am pretty sure it isnt bark because it does it on its own without me putting load on the engine and lettin out. just curious what that is, figuring it has alot to do with the vgt turbo and that it is normal.

I'm sure you are just hearing the turbo vanes adjusting and the turbo spooling or winding down. Your LLY doesn't have a blowoff valve from the factory.

thats what i meant, the turbo doing the work to adjust the vanes or somethin, it just sounds like one. it sounds FRIGGIN awsome:D

You can, but you have to rig it differently than the gasser BOV. Probably end up costing the same in the end.
