i just modded a LBZ regulator and installed it in my truck , dont know what any one usually gets with this mod , but on my truck it was worth an extra 1000-1500 p.s.i rail pressure @ the same pulse i was running , and allowed me to run an extra 75 usec at the same pressure or slightly higher than i was at before . just thought i would share the results for those looking at this mod . for the money i give it a big thumbs up . $60 for a used regulator and modding was free .

no pics sorry Rick , but yes i am running a lb7 cp3 still . and on the LBZ regulator i modded it the same as you would a LB7 , but on the LBZ there are 4 triangle shapped ports on the slide barrel inside the regulator , and i cut the slit into 2 of them and left the other 2 stock . seems to work just fine , i just used a dremmel and cut wheel to cut the slits and some 1000 grit sand paper to de-bur it .

Did you go from a stock LBZ regulator to the modded one or from an LB7 regulator to the modded LBZ one? I just wonder if you would have seen the same gains from an unmodded LBZ regulator.

from stock lb7 to a modded lbz , i dont know what i would have got from a stock lbz , so far what i gained seemed pretty good to me not big but decent . not shure what others have seen by doing a modded reg ?

Trent, we're going to have to insist that you pull it back out and disassemble to get pics and to build a DIY thread.

Yeah I am interested in doing the same mod if it is possible to be done in a day or so.Just so that I can get a little more out of the pump.I know it can be baught from vendors but if I can do it myself it is always good to save a buck.:)

no garentee's the modded one out flowing a reular lbz model but in theroy it should . you should be able to do it in a day , i did my reg , mitusa lift pump , header/up pipe blankets and intercooler in about 9 hours including troubles priming the fuel system .
