:(:(:( Well...sorry to inform everyone out there...she's been good to all of the members in my family, but after pondering it for some time now we decided to sell it. I know that everyone is going to be sad by the news but we are moving on. We will sure miss the good times that we had. The kids are mad but I'm sure they will get over it soon. Well with that said we are in the market for the next big thing. Thanks for your support.

If you think I am talking about the Dmax.............

Relax....we sold the golf cart !!:D

We are looking at the new Kawasaki Trex UTV with a long travel kit. 750cc V-twin. It is claimed to get to 60 mph. :thumb: I posted the ad on Craigslist today at 4:30 local time and it was sold 1 hour later to the 8th caller. Man...gotta love craig's list. It doesn't surprise me though. Last year I sold my 06 Titan in two days for pay-off. The buyer drove up from Tucson (about 2 hrs. drive) with full payment - cash ?? Hell it doesn't get any better than that. Now thanks to the "list" I have my DMAX.

My mom has the John Deere gator xuv diesel on their farm. it won't do 60 but you would have a hard time getting it stuck. It's not what you're looking for but its a great unit.

The Rhino's are great and most of the guys I go to the sand dunes with have them tricked out....but at 750 cc stock, you can't touch the Kawasaki's. The only bad thing is they are new on the market and it will take awhile to get the bugs worked out. It's a toss-up right now because I can get a rhino with most of the goodies for $12,500 (660cc) or get a stock Kawasaki at 750cc for under $9000. Hopefully aftermarket companies are diligently working on motor mods and suspension for the Kaw. already.

'06 Rhino here. Full cage, seats 4, aftermarket seats front and rear with 4 point Crow harnesses, cooler rack, lights, top, etc. etc. etc. Licensed for street use, and she'll do about 55MPH. :D

That's what I'm talking about !
Although many like one of my long time friends have gone WAAAAAY over-board with the add-on's for his rhino. Last time we calculated he had over $15k worth of custom paint, exhaust, long travel, big-bore kits and the list goes on. I want something all four of us can dune, enjoy and not spend the weekends fixing stuff on it.

Dave,

Any input on the Kawasaki 750 T-Rex ?? I know it's hard when you own a Yamaha to be asked this question.

I'm not sure. They haven't been out long enough yet for me to form an opinion. I wonder how long it will be before you have a good selection of aftermarket parts... If you really want something 4 people can dune, I would say get a sand car. We use the rhino at the dues to take the family places together like the sand drags, etc. But they really don't have the power to weight ratio to go ride the bowls with 4 people and a cooler in tow. IMO.

We had a sand cars 3 years ago - four seater Sand Limo by Jo Fab. After three different motor set-ups (we kept blowing third gear out of the tranny - literally) and getting a mendeola tranny, we had it finally dialed in. The third motor - the one that we had when sold was a twin turbo'd Nissan Maxima V6 that out 725 HP to the rear crank (at 45psi boost). It was a rocket, only problem was when you broke down it was 3 grand minimum in repairs. The shocks alone were almost $8 grand (twin bypass King Coil-overs w/hydral. bump stops. Okay so enough about the car....but been there and definately done that. A UTV is sufficient for what we want to do, not to mention the cost now of VP117 fuel -:t-:t-:t. My wife agrees that it is time to slow down a little and definately not put the kids in danger ( I NEVER drove with the kids or the wife in the car when at the drags, she sees enough carnage at the E.R.).

Cool, as long as your expectations are in line, a side x side will suit you fine.
