I'm not so sure about it being a new injector. I'm pretty sure you buy the tips and put them on your injector bodies. Unless they have a core system setup.

Dmax sticks are much like the cummins. Usually it's just a nozzel change. There are better options. Industrial injection and DDP would be my choices. Both extrude hone also.

What makes DDP or Industrial Injection better than ATS? If you would elaborate that would be great.

If it were me I would want my sticks extrude honed. ATS sticks are not extrude honed. For the price of the injectors why settle for them not.

Please understand Electric discharge machining is NOT the same as Extrude honed.

There are a couple of sites that explain it better than I do. I will post links

I do believe the ATS's are full injectors not just nozzels. They may sell nozzels now. After some very poor service I no longer deal in any form with them. Not saying they have bad products though. Most of there stuff is very good except customer service & IMO transmissions.

gethoned really does a nice job of showing the difference in finished product.

I think you've made your point about ATS service and I don't think you need to put that in every post. Thank you.

EDM process uses a wire to burn the metal out of the way in basic terms. Extrude Hone (EH) uses a media that is pushed through a part so the abrasive material cuts on the surface. Remember that it cuts any surface it comes in contact with, and sometimes that's not what you want or need. Both have there place and are best used together when doing injector nozzles. The finish from EDM work is not as nice as EH but if you try to run the EH process too much the surface finish goes away and you cannot control the finished part. Factory injectors bodies are all there is from anyone on the market. All any of us do is rework the nozzle from factory specification and some of us have new nozzles made to our specifications to replace the factory one. We use the EDM process to make the injector nozzles and put the holes where we want them, then follow that with the EH process to smooth things out and balance the flow from them.

Exactly the end result is a much better balanced set if injectors across the board.

Nice job

intersting info I find injectors on duramax's to be such a grey area

If you talk to the right people you can get plenty of info. Something I have found out is, not many people can actually flow test these injectors. Now, I could have been fed a complete line of B.S but who knows.

I am looking into some injector nozzles when I do them in the blue truck. I was thinking of that place on the web that does EDM work but realized that TTS has a set of nozzles as well. I guess for that fact kennedy diesel does too. I would be curious to know how the vendors mentioned test injector flow and ensure they are correct and ready to be ran. Steve, John you around?
