just wondering what yalls overhead consoles look like i am pretty sure mine didnt come with all the fixins so if yall could post some pics to let me see what your workin with id be gratefull. the reason i am askin is cause i want to change mine for a little larger one with more room in it(compartments/room for switches/ect.)

Both my 01 and 04 had better overheads in them... You might want to check around for a wercked older truck and see what you can find...

what are the largest concoles made for the 04.5 and will any year console fit? because i want one that maybe will go all the way(as close as possible) to the back seat for reading lights and such.

The one in my 01 had

A compartment to Velcro the garage remote into so you pressed the outside button and it hit the open button on the hidden remote,

A compartment for sun glasses

A compartment for CD

Overhead lights for the front but I am not sure about the rear...

I was going to go find one for my 04 but never got around to it... I know there were not mounting points that the rear of the console would be able to attach to but I never took the liner out to see if they had the points hidden or completely removed.. I was going to JB weld fittings to the roof if I needed to...

see i like all the compartments and i think i could use the back dome light mounts to hold it what do you think? i would like to find something that has map lights for the rear. plus in at least one of the foreward compartments i could fab up a little "switch box" that would use the same hinges and then you will have easy access to the wiring and use the panel for the switches just mount them on top of it or make up a little thing to go over it for a more "ergonomic look/feel". i dont know im just kind of brainstorming here.

go to that link and back track... there were over 350 consoles listed for sale.. Maybe you could fing something out of a surban that has the back lights.. OR use the same fixture my club cab has .

i see what i can find but i am anxious cause i wanna see what i can do about using one of the panels for the switches and seeing how it works.

No kidding my Accord has more stash places lol.I like having all the little hideaway places to stash things.The center console is nice but everything just kinda gets dropped onto everything else.I think I did see that they make organizers for them.

Thats not all they cut on those models :mad: They cut the lights in the foot wells, glove box and underhood light too...

The addition of lights in the footwells...yeah they cut that out of my year model too.:mad: I went to Carquest Auto Parts and for under $30 bought the oem light sockets, some wire and a couple of bulbs...now I have what GM left out. An easy DIY project.Sounds cheesy, but WOW what a difference seeing your feet makes especially when I am prone to drop stuff down there all the time !:thumb:

How do you remove this center console? I know there's a screw in the front part but then what's holding it up?
Do you slide it forward or backwards?

Pull really hard lol has 4 clips that hold it on also. I just gave it a lil pull and mine popped right off. My truck came with a factory sun roof so mine didn't have the big hole for gauges so I replaced it with a denali console that has the bigger pocket and sun roof switch
