Finally went down the 1/4 on the new motor. Ran a handful of low 11s at over 120mph with the best pass of the night being an 11.18 @ 122mph. I'm bouncing off the rev limiter before the end of the 1/4 and either need taller tires or to bump the rev limiter up. It definately has 10s in it on fuel.

My best of the night was a 1.64, on my 11.18 pass it was a 1.65. Not horrible but I've done 1.5s on these tires before (with my stock motor), and of course I'm looking for more. My laptop died so I only got to log one pass and still need to adjust shift points a good bit. I was bouncing off 4400 RPM before the end of the track, even though the rev limiter is set to 4800 in the tune. Also gonna check for boost leaks since I was only getting 55PSI instead of the 62 I've seen out of this charger. Hopefully my next time out with all of these things corrected puts me in a different club.):h

If you increased the flow though the motor it's very possible you will loose boost. Boost, the way we measure it, is the amount of pressure the turbo makes that the motor can not swallow.

Which Cheaters are you running? What size? I just ordered ET streets, the 305/45/18s, there only 29" tall, with my trap speeds looks like ill be running out of rpms.
On Edit, are you sure you were hitting the rev limiter? Your either running short tires, because that seems weird hitting 4400 at only 121.

Ok, i just looked at my logs, and with tires that measure around 32" tall im at 3688 at 127mph.

Haven't changed anything on the motor since I built it. I was surprised to see 62 PSI with all the airflow upgrades that I have.

I have 28 x 11.5 MT ETs. My laptop died so I didn't get to log it and see what was going on. My converter may be slipping to have RPM that high. I'll let you know what I figure out.

What rims are you going to run those on.I would like to run a 18" but I do not want alot of rim sticking out like my Gunner 8's do.Be nice when I lower the truck.

Just curious why you guys would want less sidewall on your race tires? is it just that there isn't anything in a size that you like available for a 16" wheel?

Exactly, they offer taller sizes for 18's

Dustin I would like to run a 30" tire. Also I think the 18" M&T's that Matt runs have a higher weight rating on them. Its alittle scary looking at the M&H on the front end. That and I want something to take up the wheel well some and I can lower my truck 3/5

I still can't wait to see what your truck does once you get the set up worked out. I'd love to see you hit 10's. I've got a lot of work to do when I get home to catch back up, lol.
Oh, and my wife wants to go for a ride in your truck before mine is built so she can decide if I really 'need' it ):h

I have a few minor issues to take care of and am trying to sell my cheater slicks to get some taller ones. My goal is 10s on fuel on the current, very streetable setup. I think after she goes for a ride she'll realize that you do "need" it.

Did you ever figure out if you were running up on the limiter? With my et streets i did run up on the limiter at 128. We bumped it up i bit, and it seemed to be fine. Gotta do something different next year though.

On that pass the converter was locked and I went through the traps at about 3800 RPM. The next few passes the TC couldn't have been locked because with 1-2 less mph my RPM was well over 4000 at the traps. I still want to step up to 30x14 M&H cheaters for next year, and will probably switch to a Precision Industries Converter.

What about Brayden's lockup controller?

The lockup controller works very well Dustin and would be a lot cheaper too.

Nothing against Brayden but I would rather fix the problem than put a band-aid over it. My 1058 is barely loose enough for my current set-up and I may go with a bigger turbo in the future so I think that the converter I have Precision build me will help my times, be high enough stall to go bigger, and eliminate the lock-up problem all at once.

Close to the same stall as a 1055 but with alot more coupling.

What was your 1/8th mile time and MPH? I have never raced a 1/4 mile track, all we have local is 1/8th so it helps put it in perspective. Thanks

Dustin what rpm did you leave at to rip off a 1.5x 60? I leave at 26-2700 and still only get low 1.6's with my 1057

On that pass it was a 7:20 @ 98.

That was last year on the stock motor leaving in 2nd @ about 2700 RPM. For this pass I left at about 2100 RPM in 1st - it was a shakedown run.
