Are you pushing through the brakes before you get the boost built up to where you used to be able to get it?

nope. try to launch between 15 & 20 psi. more than that and brakes wont hold it.

Track prep has a lot to do with 60' times. I can cut 1.65's at our local NHRA prepped track, when I go other places that usually drops to 1.7 and even 1.8's.

2nd gear launch helps 60' times on a poor track, but not totally. I can still spin pretty hard on second gear launches on a crummy track.

My best 60' times are with a bit of tire spin.

Describe what happens when you push the tuck too far at the line? Then we can suggest what to do to cure that symptom.

Some loose traction, others are toeing in like crazy, some wheel hop. Each can be dealt with.

i wheel hop like pretty good. i cured the toe in problem with alighment and messing with the torsions.

rob, i never really thought about this, but would having b50 in my tank cut some time off the 60' since it has less energy per gallon than #2? im going to be running full #2 this next weekend so we'll see what the times are. also the track is a NHRA track and is very well kept.

You will have to go with a straight center link and better bushings in the front control arms. I am sure you are already clamping the rear springs too.

Put a white stripe on your tires with chalk and have someone take videos of your launches. A camera angle that is as close to the ground as possible helps a lot. With that you can work on your weight transfer. A lot of these truck will actually have the body going backwards when they launch. You can do wonders adjusting your ride height in the back to make you go forward better.

You should have somewhere between 1/4 and a half a tank. Less than 1/4 and you could end up with some fuel pressure problems.

Do you have Air Bags in the back? Easy way to change your ride height and/or spring rate in the back. ;)

yepp. bags in the back along with a add a leaf. think i should mess around with psi in the bags to put more pressure on the spring pack?

Look at the video first. Pay attention to the space above the rear wheel and how the rear bumper moves.

Here is my track set-up.

Clamp the springs.

Set my Rancho's to stiffest setting.

Lower my T-bars all the way down, turn the pass. side back in 2-3 full turns. (This helps keep from unloading the drivers side front tire under torque.)

Tire pressure adjustments, usually 30-32 in the front and 28-25 in the rear.

That's it. I average 1.68 60' times with this set-up. No traction bars, no secrets. Power and weight affect 60' times also.

Remember 4x4's need to keep the weight on the front tires for good launching. You do not want weight transfer. Play with tire pressures to reduce wheel hop.

Changes in the fuel will effect the power output so it could effect not only the 60's but also the complete ET. Play with your launch RPM and boost. You can over power the track and slow yourself down. We've run a best of 1.35- 1.38 several times but the 330 is always slower when we do it. So it's a balance of what works best. AS Rob said you want just a little tire spin to get your best 60's.

update: ran last night and best 60' was 1.84x with little tire spin. every run i made low fuel rail code (0087) came up right at the 1000 mark. still trying to figure that out...:(
