With the top 50 that Ken is doing getting so quick I thought it would be nice to come up with a place for us slower guys. :)

To be on this list you must have a stock motor, stock single CP3, stock injectors, stock turbo, etc. in a stock bodied truck on #2 only! ;)

I know Skintback ran a 12.38, and thebac ran a 12.40. Do you guys meet the requirements? Also give us some details on your trucks. I should end up being about #4 on the list I think. I'll keep the list updated as people chime in. For now I'll be #1. :D

I've done a lot of little things but I don't seem to see any improvement. :( Modded reg, egr delete, etc. I think my injectors are the problem. They have about 200,000 miles on them.

I'm running a mild steel set of headers with the 2" up pipes. Thinking about going to the castings.

I also did not find any info on runs Kennedy may have made...he never posted any results in separate threads. Same for SuperDiesel, hdmax, heartbeatcanada.....you know, most of the guys who led the way back when stacking tuners was the only way to go

If you know of others from way back in 2005-2007, the info would be nice to have.

last time i talked to Chris he was getting ready to build his motor. so he wont be in the stock class for much longer. sounds like you will have to get into the 11's

For all I know, yes. There are various different add-ons, like uppipes, modded regulators and tire choice for example, but basic motor/turbo/injector combo is still OEM.

Only one thats questionable is the top one (N20). I was told it was done with modded CP3 and 20% sticks, so you tell me if it still qualifies.

Well, if you want to be able to drive home after a day of running 12's, Id say "yes". :rolleyes: IMO, a built trans is a given if you want to go lower than 12.99.

Heck, even Darius has an SBC clutch in his ZF...you arent gonna run 12's on the stock one.

TJ picked ours up a little more with the help of Skintback's 12.39 tune and some spring clamps. 1.68 60, but still not enough. We only had time to remove the spare and the tailgate. Next week we'll strip it a little more. ;)

Didn't get a chance to run Nick's tune either. Lot's of oil downs. With the spring clamps his should have went faster then before.

Updated the list. Jess told me the only thing that may have been modded on Bucks truck was the injectors, but he wasnt sure. Im not going to split hairs...Buck's time gives us all something to shoot for.

Well we were on our way, but it wasn't meant to be. I'll have to do a little work on the tune to get any faster. We were throwing codes and losing MPH with every pass.

TJ did manage a 12.309 @ 105.27 with a 1.647 60 and a 7.745 1/8 @ 87.18. All in all a great outing. Special Thanks to all that helped!!

Yes, we were running Dimitri's used radials. Not sure where they played into the equation but it all definitely worked. Best 60 of the night was a 1.603 after a burnout on a 12.325 @ 104.95 pass.

Earlier in the night before we started throwing codes and doing burnouts TJ did a 107.71 on a 12.378 pass.

Hopefully we have at least one good track day left.

When you were first starting this up, I figured it would take a 12.70 to be on this list. Looks like I may have been right. When you look back on Dmax performance from circa 2005, its amazing how far this has come in a short time.

Damn, Buck's is a fast time for a stock truck. Please list again what is allowed to be on this list? I know you can mod the tranny, what else? As I have always said, not all Dmax's were built equal. Some are just naturally fast. :thumb:

Rick I don't think doing burnouts on drag radials makes them any more sticky. Slicks yes, drag radials I don't think so. My allison didn't like doing burnouts at all, I don't think Mike L recommends them either.

Yep I have seen him say that a few times but as long as you dont go passed 4th you should be on it is the 5th and 6th that dont like it from what I have seen. I make sure to put it in manual shift locked on 4th. or use EFI-Live.

They both claim that the 12.18 was done on stock injectors. I know theres conflicting stories about that truck. But who am I to doubt it?? I wasnt there to see it. I admit I am uncomfortable questioning that truck, because it would sure look self-serving to everyone else because of my postion on the list, and I just wont do that.

Thats the one thing about this list....its all "on your honor" when it comes to mods, and I keep hoping everyone is honest about it.

Had a person ask at the Place about mods, and this was my reply:

Its tough to quantify it, as different people run different setups, but the basics are:

Stock engine
stock turbo
stock injectors
stock cp3
no nitrous, w/m or propane
whoever's tune you run


Its when you get to the rest of the bolt-ons that it gets pretty vague. Most people run the "normal" stuff like built trans, fuel pump, intake, exhaust...but then you could run uppipes or downpipe, slicks, modded regulator, etc. Some people pull parts/seats to reduce vehicle weight, others run full weight.

As long as the basics are followed, then the rest is up to your interpretation.
Keep in mind that this whole thing started here, so this forum sets the rules for the list, no matter what I say or post.


BTW, I had been hoping that some of the older member runs would start getting reported, and I got two (carbon04 and ratlover) today. So the list looks like this now:

BTW guys, I did bend the rods in my motor while trying for the top spot this year. I cant say for sure when it happened, but it did.

So now the question is, does installing LBZ rods into my otherwise-stock engine exclude me from this list? Its not a performance mod, per sec...more like a longevity mod.

Tom IMHO a stock LBZ part is the same as running a LBZ generation truck. As long as they are the oem parts un-modified I think it should be allowed. ;)

Maybe because the tires were used?When I was at BG on Oct 23rd, I talked to Dale Smith about it and he agreed that getting Drag radials hot makes them slicker, he does squirt some secret sauce spray on them before each run that makes them more tacky. I guess better to do a list of what the has to be kept factory, with the envelope being pushed to the point of bending rods some strength upgrades are going to be done to continue down this road.

Factory components must consist of:
turbo with stock internals(no cheetahs)
CP3 with stock internals
injectors
camshaft
factory stroke

Also for what it's worth we went 12.27 @ 108.3 today on Nick's latest tune. We had a 1.645 60 & a 7.754 @ 87.05 1/8th.

I shouldn't have messed with the truck & missed out on the last weekend at the track. Guess Ill have to take ride to Jersey to get one more day of racing in.
I did the manifolds & up-pipes, no more turbo lag & it lights the tires up on a roll now.
