bought a 99 chevy express van 2500 5.7 gas 88,000 miles, last week. loaded all my equipment in it this weekend and am now using it for my work van.

after running it for a day I've noticed a couple things that need to change,

1 - it needs a dmax in it. nothing i can do about that right now.

2- the suspension is terrible compared to the 3500. I haven't had a 2500 in 7 or 8 years and now i remember why. looked around online and dont see too many shock upgrades available, any thoughts? I know with the 06 van, some of the shocks listed are the same as on my 07 lbz truck but i didnt see that with the 99 van.

3- the stupid DRLs. can i unplug them somewhere and not lose my headlight operation?

4- Gas EFI tuning? its a 5.7. i looked up the airfilter and it takes the same as the vette?!?!!! downloaded the stock tune, guess i should find a stock vette tune and compare

ok, heres what i've found so far.....

the 2500 with 8 lugs (mine) takes the same shocks as the 3500 in 1999. so if the only difference is the extra leaf in the rear spring giving it some extra load capacity, I'm going to put eithersom air shocks (1100 lb extra capacity) or the monroe shocks with spring (500 lb extra)

also, took the stock steel wheels off my 07 truck and the 265 Michelins I just yanked off the truck and put them on the 99 van. looks 101 percent better!

now i gotta get an efi licence, correct the speedo, and play with the tune a little.
