i istalled a fass fuel and wired it to the fuse box under the hood like the instructions showed with a fuse tap. started having problems with my diagnostic port not powering up the efi live then fianally wouldnt start one day. took it to the garage they said that the fuse tap shorted out the fuse block $458 later was up and running again minus the extra fuel from the pump was wondering if anyone had this problem and where the got the power from. help and pics would be great thanks

Mine was wired in like that. I didn't have any problems, but my new air dog pump has a relay. Might be a good thing to do to yours.

they said that the fuse tap spread the contacts in the block shorting them out

The fuse taps I have seen are not thick at all and would not push the fuse holder far enough to cause a short. Something is not right.

i agree my air dog has a relay as well and also their fuse tap is much cleaner and safer. it's a double fuse tap. two prongs go into the fuse box as normal but there are 2 fuses on the tap.
sorry no pics.

I have seen them spread the terminals in the fuse block as well, however it is not enough to cause a short circuit, but a bad connection.
