If the 8th digget on the vin is a 1 then its a lb7 right.? And if thats so why are the BCM's diff? the one i have in my 02 truck has 3 connecters in the front and the one in my friends 04 has 5 in the front? The qoution that iam asking is will the 04 BCM work on the 02

In 03 they changed a bunch of stuff. The 01's and 2's should be the same. ;)

In 03 they changed a bunch of stuff. The 01's and 2's should be the same. ;) So they wont work?

The ENGINES are both LB7, but the REST of the truck received a new dash and all new electronic systems in '03...
It complicates lots of things (using 01-03 Allisons in newer trucks and vice versa... Putting an LLY in a Pre '03 truck... )
I could go on, but the just of it is that you'll need to get a BCM from the same generation truck...

According to my experience, not much of any of the harness / controls from the 02 will work in the 04. Sorry.
