This may sound a little silly, but I am trying to install a EGR blocker plate on my 07 LBZ. I have tried the penetrating lube, how tight can they get a nut? I am finding that a regular size wrench is too long and a stubby is too short. What have most of you used to get these damn nuts loose? Socket, wrench?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. They must tighten them babies before the engine goes in the vehicle...

I read a post somewhere that someone used a nut to hold the wrench in place, I like the idea yet I have not tried it.

Thanks in advance..

Jeff

A couple of days of heat/cool cycles with penetrating lube will help.

Work on a warm, not hot engine.

I got by with just a regular 1/2" ratchet on the 2 I have done. Others have had good luck using a flex-head socket handle.

I am not sure they are on there actually all that tight. I think they are just a bear to get any leverage on. Someone managed to get an air ratchet back there and reported that they just popped off....

I've only done them on the LLY's and there's a little room on them, but they where tight too!

Thanks, for the suggestions.

Jeff

I will try it this weekend and see where I get.
