I've been thinking about doing this for a while, but had kind of forgot about it till Ryan said something.
I've been running without my OEM filter for about 6 months now. My rail pressure still could be better so I thought I would try opening the fuel feed to the cp3 up. The system uses aprox 1/2" hose through the FCIM and filter but necks down drastically at the service port.
What I did was cut the small line off and drill the service port housing out to match a piece of 3/8" tube. I then cut off the small fitting on the cp3 fitting and drilled it out also. Then I welded bead rolled tube on each part and ran a 3/8" hose down to the cp3. I can't tell yet but it has to be better!

I guess that serves the same purpose as the new fitting that PPE is selling. Except you just made your own?:thumb:

this is what i came up with off the CP3 M12-1.50 to a -6 /90 I just need to make sure there is nothing in the way but it looks like it will work

Be sure to measure the ID and compare it. Aluminum will usually have thicker material to compensate for being softer.
If my mod helps I'm thinking about tapping the cp3 to a bigger size and running 1/2" all the way down.

its .325 ID so it 3/8 still better then 5/16 but tapping the CP3 and running 1/2 is the best way to do it but that would mean you need to remove the whole CP3 pump to do that. The fitting i got i can also make it 1/2 line by going with a M12-1.5 TO -8 then a -8 90 but it would still be smaller at the CP3 fitting

We did a bunch of this to my truck, we went all the way up to a 3/4" feed, "Y"ing into double 5/8" to the back of the both CP3. drilled out the back of the pumps and adapted to 5/8"... long story short the restriction is just inside the fitting from feed to CP3. use a mirror and a light and look down the hole that the fitting comes out, or tear the pump apart, you'll see that there is a 1/4" or smaller hole that 90's off the back of the fitting port.
not saying don't go for it :) sharing what i found. IMO - the "kink" is at the back of the pump, past the fitting, in the body.

hey i just made a fitting that is basically the same style as the stock fitting but the same inlet diameter as the new ppe fitting. i like making my own parts instead of buying them ill post some pics if anyone wants to see it.it just took some math and a few measurements and i got the same result as the ppe fitting.
