I know this is a bit early but I thought I would start a thread that will soon include the results from the St.Joesph dyno days this May 17th.

Anyone plan on attending?

I'll be down in swatkins' part of the country that day. Have fun; it looks like the weather is going to be great.

I was just kidding about it being a turd. 2 of them run pretty good.

Be sure to spread the word.

Well I just got back now, I think the dmax represented pretty well. I believe the top three trucks were dmaxes.

I got 607hp on the dyno and took 3rd place. I also won the "furthest travel" award. Something that worried me is my truck reved to 5700 rpms! :confuzeld: Now my motor makes a winding noise

Congrats on the good showing! :thumb:

Hope everything is OK.

5700  How in the world did you do that?

Josh2002cc
05-18-2008, 03:06 AM
Not really sure I need to talk to Adam Wildman(malibu795) about that one...I think he removed the rev limiter. My first guess is, the turbo was overspooled but I will know more tomm. Truck runs fine as great as usual but that means jack crap at this point.

First off... I am pissed that RICK didn't tell me about this site.... What the heck.

Second off.... well I got nothing...):h

Josh. I do not think that your truck hit 5700. The dyno thought that you were 1:1 and I think.. correct me if I am wrong... when it shifted into 5th that changes everything. However your truck ran freakin awsome. Sounded really strong for a stock internall D-max. Plenty of smoke too. Malibu did a nice job on the tuning...

Did something happen and cause the engine to free spin? 5700 under a load, I'm gonna have to say no way but...

Nope the software for the Dyno has it's issues. We are not happy with it at the moment, but can't do anything about it. Josh's truck was awsome, but it did not go over 5000. I asked brandon about it and he said that there were a couple more than read higher than what their limiter was set at.

Gots to get that fixed........

Tim I will look at the efi tune and see what Adam has it set to as far as the rev limiter goes.

I do agree that the software had its' issues as Tim explained he was getting no customer support from the dyno company. But the good thing is, this will give me a good reason to come back down once he gets all the bugs worked out!

Again, thanks alot to all the people at SJD!

Oh and Tim my g/f is sporting the red SJD tshirt that you all gave her today. I will have to get a picture for ya.

It's ok. I have been very busy. Not even a word in the dictionary to explain how busy. This next week should be quite a bit easier... I hope....

Hey Josh, give me a call tomorrow and remind me. I am training a new guy along with some other jobs going on. I am sorry that I forgot. Ask Rob, sometimes he has to call and remind me on somethings.

Thanks

Not to bother you buddy, I know you have bigger things to worry about than my dyno graph.

Make sure you keep me in mind if there is a pull or something you guys are going to do between you and I

What's up man.... I finally got the graph for you. We also figured some other little things out with the dyno so here it is...:D

5000 RPM!!! With a diesel?

Josh2002cc
05-22-2008, 01:03 PM
Thanks for the graph Tim.

So anyone know what the issue is with the RPM's?
Adam says his tune only runs to 48XX RPM's

BudTX
05-22-2008, 06:32 PM
Interesting. Besides the RPM question, I would have expected a lot higher torque reading at that hp.

Josh2002cc
05-22-2008, 07:44 PM
Bud I believe that is where the TQ reading is found, using the RPMs.

Timthecarman2004
05-24-2008, 06:33 PM
Josh I agree. I was told the same thing. I just wished that the company would get us the right stuff so we could do this again and get some accurate numbers.
