Hey everyone,
Something to check once in a while are your transmission lines. I am replacing mine due to the fact that the original lines have been cut through because of the retainers. The guilty culprit retainers are the ones located along the oil pan on the pass. side above the axle. Basically, it is a metal on metal issue that GM seemed over look? I don't have any pictures, but it is something to look at.
I noticed this after pulling a 84' CUCV over Donner Summit. My tailgate had fluid spots across the back and the CUCV and trailer were also covered. A nice pool of ATF formed while unloading the CUCV and I just followed the bread crumbs.
What I have been told is the issue was solved a few years later.
With the amount invested in our vehicles and transmission something as a simple retainer can ruin great things.
I will try and get some pictures on this.
Happy Easter!
