Sorry. I've got family there that can get you a VIP tour of one of my favorite English Breweries, but I don't think they have any pull in the "banjo bolt" field...:anitoof:

Suncoast IV with 1056 and copilot for the first 50k, c2s delaminated and c3's were burnt pretty bad, just refreshened it with new c2's and 3's and removed the copilot and added a sc brace thanks to timthecarman2004 up at sjd. Kinda wish i wouldve added the c3 oiler and a precision converter.

What's your take on the Goerend Bros. Torque Converter? Triple disk? Five disk? What is the "stall RPM"? What TC would you liken it to?

I love it so far. It's supposed to be several hundred rpm over stock stall. So it should be about 2000-2100 I think. It seems to be a little higher stalled than the 1057. Its a triple disc. So far I love it. Now my previous builder had some things ommited from the stage IV kit and I never liked how it shifted 2-3. Georend finished the stage IV and now it works like a charm.

I ran the 01 OS in the TCM for a while. Loved it drag racing and driving around but didn't have ODLO and when pulling the trailer it shifted too early. I did love the fact that it wasn't constantly trying to relearn every time I played with the DSP5 switch changing power levels. I went back to the OE '05 OS and to get it shifting at higher RPM's again and to have the ODLO.

Perfect world I'd have the 01 OS that shifted at a higher RPM, had ODLO, and retained high idle function. And would downshift from 3-2 when I pull the lever:mad: (truck pulling.... I can pull the shifter down, but that doesn't mean it'll downshift.)

SCIV in my truck with 1057 (had a SCIII with 1056 and got a great deal on a newer IV before a guy traded in his truck so I had to upgrade). Puller and my brother's LMM both have SCIV with 1058s. All built by Brayden Fleece and haven't been able to smoke one yet (and we have tried ):h)

Ed,
Can you describe the differences (from your own experience) between the 56,57, and 58?

I really liked my 56. It performed well as all my competition results are with a 56 (my truck retired at the end of last year before the 57 went in).

The 57 locks up well and drives great, I just don't like it for towing as much. I do think I can get a little better track time out of it versus my 56 though.

The 58 in Tony's LMM I think is the way to go. It still tows well and with a 12.6 on a stock charger, the performance if definitely there. On our puller, it is a bit tight for our charger. I'd rather have a 1055 I think for it.

My vote would be based on what you do more with your truck. If it is work and then play - 56, if it is mostly play - 58. All of them are great converters though.

I have ran 3 Goerend torque convertors. The latest two have had a gas stator design with stall around 2400rpm. It is soft around town and not suited for towing heavy but I can foot brake and leave the line about 2200 rpm. It works well to help spool a large single turbo set-up.

I have not run any Suncoast convertors yet but may test some next spring with the new motor.

You don't upgrade a 1057. You can go yo another model that suits your engine better .

SC-III kit from 2004, with a Co-Pilot added in 2005.......it went trouble free for 90K miles.

Last September, 2007 I had it refreshed.

Big Dipper pulled it out for an inspection, found nothing wrong, replaced the C3's as a precaution, swapped to a ML/Precision TC from a SC-1050 and he did a few tweaks, it went back in and still running great.
