I have one installed on my LLY and it works great. Not only does it close the vanes to the turbo but it also down shifts the transmission to obtain even more braking. Money well spent for me because I tow a lot.

If you are only talking about towing the load you call out in the other thread "24ft bumper trailer and 5500lbs unloaded", I wouldn't spend the money on a banks brake. You won't need it IMO. If you always run tow/haul (which you should) and let the allison do it's thing with grade braking, you should be just fine.
I don't have one and my RV weighs > 18,000 lbs. (I've scaled >27,000 lbs GCW truck and trailer) I've towed this load all over the mountains of Az. and Co.
Again, JMO.
