Hey yall i am building a 6.0 for the camaro and i picked up an LQ9 a while back, i went up there to grab it knowing it was to good a deal to be a direct drop in short block and turned out to be starved for oil when i inspected the damn thing it also had some valve to piston contact.

Anyway i am gonna have everything checked out as far as the block, crank to see if it needs polished, and connecting rods. My question to yall is if the rods are bad what do ya think i could grab a stock set for that are used but good(I.E. pulled for a stroker or something like that) and do ya know of anyone sittin on a set they would like to get rid of.

Reason i am going with stock rods is cause they are proven to 600 hp mark and this is a temp build to get it back on the road(later build will hopfully either be a punched and stroked 6 or 7 litre with a good size turbo) <--- that and the house is where the damn money is goin as ar as not being able to do anything new to the truck. Would like to get her back on the road for now to get fuel costs down for driving to and from work that way i could split the weeks between the 2.

Thanks in advance.

LOL there are things i could do with a diesel i cant do with gas and vice versa but i will tell ya i miss the gas v8 sound, revvin the shit out of it and all.

I cant wait to get back behind the wheel of the maro and hear that shit again, there is a vid somewhere in vid central of a burnout contest i did with it before i rolled the o-ring messing with the oil pump and spun a bearing due to loss of pressure.

 My own dumbass fault though i was in a hurry messin with swappin cams and wanted to change the oil pump with a PnP'd LS6 unit. well i get it unbolted and figure out i cant get the pickup tube unbolted cause i cant get a wrench in there at the right angle, to do that id have to drop the pan to drop the pan id have to unbolt and lift the engine a little and to do that id need a hoist. After it was all said and done when i put the bolts in and slapped everything back together i rolled the o-ring.

Well i have a hoist now and im pullin the engine shortly.
