Okay shortly after my trans build I'm looking to get a level 3 Wicked, or the comparable Floor it pump to make up for my weak pump (holding about 18,000 on the big tune). This is a stock LBZ bottom end with the factory sticks.
Looking for how to tune the pump.

Would I just rescale the demanded PSI to something practical like 26k, or would I need to adjust more stuff than that?

I have heard that stock injecter bodies in the Cummins are cracking at only 27k, granted they are different but both being Bosch is that something I need to worry about if I wanted that much pressure?

Also the higher the pressure that the fuel is injected the more pressure I'll get in the cylinders, correct? So being a stock long block is there any way to tell how much is too much. With out burning through the piston?

I guess what I'm looking for is what is the normal for max effort with being somewhat reliable?

After the cp3 I'm thinking of 45 or 60 overs when the funds allow FYI but idk how long that will take so I'd like to get some opinions on it

Thanks fellas

Do you have a lift pump yet? That would be the first thing to do to help out your stock CP3. Most LBZ's are holding 21K+ at worst on that tune (with a lift pump). Once you get the modded pump let me know and we'll get it dialed in. You'll be able to sustain much better pressure and we'll be able to lower pulse and timing while still getting more power. After the big sticks we will have to lower pulse and timing even more - which in my opinion will help your stock bottom end live longer at a higher hp level.

Yeah I've had about 4 liftpumps on it lol. I'm waiting to get a another replacement back from PPE. I've messed with the regulator alittle and even when it's been opened up so much that it causes a surge at about half throttle I still arent getting enough fuel.

My 450 tune only can hold 22,000. Its not the tuning I think my pump is just getting worn out.

Also I've done the bottle test and passed with flying colors. When I had my lift pump set to 14 psi it would only suck down to 7psi and that still wasn't enough. Changing fuel filters does nothing either.

7 PSI should be plenty of supply to the CP3 and in the tune I have the regulator set to wide open when you go wide open - so it sounds like you may be right about the CP3. On the 450 tune most trucks easily hold 25-26K. Modded pump will fix it and upgrade it at the same time - sounds like a win win. If you can hold full pressure we should be able to get you up closer to 600 rwhp on the stock charger.

Yea for awhile I wanted to twin the truck, but now I'm thinking cp3 and injecters would be the smartest thing to do right now. Plus I would be able to hook workstock still and maybe win a couple of times

I'll let you do all the tuning adjustments to it then :Handshake:
