Welcome to the site. It helps if you fill in the sig and we know what you have done to your truck. If its tuned or has a lift pump or any other mods done to it.
You can do a bottle test to see if the FPRV is blowing off.

P0087 tells me it is 06+ but like Henry said above and beyond that it is hard to know what to recommend without knowing what you have done. If you have tuning that demands a lot of fuel and don't have a lift pump then the CP3 can't keep up and low pressure will throw the code. If you have a lift pump and have a tune that demands a good amount of fuel pressure you could be blowing open the FPRV and dumping your pressure off, throwing the code. Logging with EFI Live, watching on a Tech II or watching on a few of the other handhelds it is easy to see if it is just not keeping up or is building to a certain point and blowing open the FPRV.

It is an 06 . I do have ppe tuner ..hot+2 no lift pump ,however it is only set on #2 and the funny thing is it only happens when slowing down or at an idle when i go to take off from a stop there is nothing . It will not even pick up off idle. I have to clear the code and sometimes it comes right back without even moveing . I drove it 300 miles today without a problem then as soon as i got into traffic and was stopped bam several times at each time i would stop never while under power

With the PPE pull up the diagnostics and watch desired vs. actual rail pressure.
If actual stays with desired until you let off the throttle then spikes (which you may not see on the PPE because of the slow data rate) then drastically falls that is typically the fuel pressure relief valve popping open. The spike in pressure forces it open but once it's open it is easily held open by less pressure - which is why clearing the code doesn't fix the problem, the fuel pressure is still being dumped off.
If the actual rail pressure stays no where near desired at any time than you need to be looking at fuel supply to the CP3 or the CP3 itself having a problem.

would be my guess...

I do have a tech 2 havent had the chance to look at the data yet tried the shim kit from ppe but no change the thing that puzzels me the most is it does it some times when you start it after sitting not thrashing on it at all . and it doesnt always do it if I have thrashed it it seems random . and only happens when at idle never while on the throttle i will look at the pressure . i did get some fuel with water in it a while back will that damage cp3 ? it just started this code though

The "bottle test" will tell you if your FPRV is blowing open. Then you'll know for sure, but you need to be able to recreate it while doing the test...

ok I have determined this only happens at an idle and now every time i let it idle commanded pressure is at 4350 and actuale pressure varies from 7000 ish to as low as 1200 ish sometimes smokes at idle and surges . im guessing an injector leaking ? picks up and pressure holds above 1200rpm and under load runs ok down the road just can't let it idle while in gear . when i look at injector values what number am i looking for ? a pluss number means that injectors trying to cut back fuel or add ?

a positive means that injector is adding fuel. No matter what is going on with the injectors the pressure should stay relatively close to desired. Sounds more like a pressure regulator problem to me. Low pressure will cause it to smoke and surge because it's not atomizing the fuel properly and is struggling to stay running with only 1200 PSI.

have put plug in fuel rail and still have code is getting worse, what is the problem, do have bully dog and truck weigths 12,000 pounds also pulling a 37 foot Big Sky 5th wheel 4 slides weldit
