One of the worst parts of changing the fuel filter is the water in fuel wiring connection. I had a terrible time getting it unplugged. This is especially true when changing a filter in -0 degree weather along side the road!! :(
On my truck it WAS mounted down on the valve cover, under the charge air cooler pipe.
I simply spliced in about 10" of wire right into the wif pigtail. Now I've got it up above the cac pipe and easy to get to!! :)
