I have a 2005 Chevy Duramax and all of a sudden my high speed on my fan went out?(#5) All the lower speeds work just fine except high? Any suggestions?

its either the switch, or blower resister.

it must be the switch because i put a new resistor in and that didn't help?

There's some kind of a junction up behind the glove box that can cause this.

I have had several different issues w blower functions w GM trucks.Does your truck have auto climate control?Ill pull a diagram at work tomorrow n try to help you if your still having trouble.I think youll find a relay for the high speed.I have found more poor connections than failed componets.Usually a loose pin and i just twist the male spade a little to fit tighter.PM me a way to get in touch with you tomorrow.:thumb:

Would it be possible that the 40amp fuse under the hood blew out? I know that when all of my fan settings went out except the high speed setting, I had to pull that fuse just to get it to go off. Maybe the other settings go through a different fuse and high speed goes through that one fuse. I don't know for sure but you could check and see.

not sure if the 05 is the same as 01-02 but in them there is a fan control circuit in front of the cabin air filters under the glovebox (05 will not have air filters). I replaced the filters in my friend's truck last night and the circuit board was shattered, causing all except level 5 to be In-Op.

I have the same problem with my 03, #5 speed only. Where is this circuit board you are talking about?

A new blower resistor fixed mine. $61 at NAPA, a lot cheaper at Rock Auto.

Under the glovebox. Unscrew the panel. Should be 3 screws I think. There is one above the tranny hump. Just loosen that one. Pain in the butt. Lower the panel. And right there on the HVAC system, slightly to the right. You will see something similar to the pic.
Well. I feel stupid. Didn't look at the date. Just noticed that you more than likely fixed it.
