just curious
what would it take to convert a DRW to a SRW i would figure new bed sides(or bed if they are diff.) and regular rims right. i dont think it would take the axel from a SRW but i dont know if they are different. what do yall think?

IIRC, the rear axle is different.

You would need a new bed they are different. This was hashed out before on the DP and the final costs were greater than what you could just trade one in and buy a new one for :)

Give a shout to NODMAX on the Place. He did that exact changeover and would know all the associated costs.

ok, thanks for yalls info i was just curious what it would take. what is different about the rear axels are the SRW wider than the DRW. not sure if it would cost all that much if you did it yourself and found a in my case a long bed truck in a junk yard that was totaled in the front pull it and hopefully get it for a good price you should but some of those places like to screw people. and since the axels are diff take it too. id imagine that it would just be a unbolt and bolt process swapping the affected parts over to the new pieces right.

I'd guess you'll need the front rotors, the complete rearend, the bed, and of course the tires and wheels.

why would you need the front rotors?

They have an "adapter/spacer" bolted to them. If you remove that you may be OK, but I don't know for sure.

Front Rotors for sure. You don't have to change the axle or bed if you want to keep that WIDE look.

see thats kind of what i would do if i wanted to go that way but how much wider would it be? i figure find one of the trucks(if possible) SRW that had the rear wheel steering and swap the beds and keep the DRW rear axle cause it would still give you a slight buldge but give you the SRW and still cover more of the wheel than the regular SRW bed.
i think that would come out to a pretty mean look depinding on the rims and tires you went with. that adapter spacer is bolted to the front rotor or the DRW rear axle?
