Stock if you are under 500hp or so.
If you want the 'bling thing' go with a cool looking chrome one, so everyone can see it while you are runing down the road.:idiot:

I agree stock with the Dmaxs works very good to a level. AFE and S&B are great options also

I have used the S&B, Txchristopher's mod with Kennedy's mod, and the Vararam. All have worked well for me.
With the amount of miles we put on our trucks the clean-able filter is a real $$ saver.

I agree with the cleanable filter option. I ditched the stocker and went with the Volant (hey the price was right). I have a 4" turbo back exhaust and an Edge juice w/attitude. I notice a difference over stock with these three add-ons. A cleanable filter....a+ in my book JMO):h.

I have the AFE and am a little disappointed. I keep sucking in the filter minder. On the stocker I sucked it in all the way, on the AFE it is only about half way.

What?? Filter Minder?? My set-up eliminated that darn thing! If there is a way to block off yours, just clean the filter when visually dirty. :thumb:

If it's sucking in, it is restricting. Need a better flowing filter.

I'd go for anything that sucks in the cooler outside air..
well I never plan on going over the 500hp mark so I guess i'm ok... I put one of those amsoil EO2 air filters in it

Nice choice. Keep us posted on the amsoil filter. I have sent out a few Injen/Amsoil inatkes and the customers have all had positive things to say.

I have been very pleased with my S&B. Granted, it is an LLY though.
installed yesterday.. seems to be a quility filter... I bought it around $40 which is pretty much the price of a AC delco anyway.... No restrictions so far showing up on the airfilter life meter...

The AFE dry setup is VERY NICE... That is about all we sell for the D-max's. They seem to last for quite a while, and are still cleanable...:thumb:

My AEM added about 42.457 HP. I was pretty happy with it. The stickers that came with it added about 12 HP without even putting them on the truck.
