What converter do I need?

For my 08 I was thinking the 1058 or the 1056 from suncoast. I plan on keeping the stock turbo and running a little shot of nitrous (100hp) It is my daily driver and I take it to the track alot. 500-600rwhp. I tow everyonce in a while mostly a 3000lb trailer. Stock tire size

Now for my 07. It has stock tires for now but I plan on some 38's. Stock turbo maybe some nitrous. 4:56 gears and daily drivin. Maybe some 1/4 mile passes. Some towing about 3000-7000lbs. 500-600rwhp. I dont know what converter I need for this.

Thanks for your help

Anthony

Suncoast 1056 or Precision ML. 1058 is not available any longer.

Ok so your saying the 1056 will work on both of my trucks?
I thought if you had a lifted truck you needed a different converter?

I have the Percison in mine and running about the same power. Works fine. As Mike said either is good. Not sure on the price difference.

Precision is 100.00 cheaper Ken.

1057 is still available at the present but that might change. Cores are hard to come by. It is still one of the best.

we have put hughes converters on the last two trucks we have done. they are low stall around 1500 rpm have been the smoothest shifting trucks we have done. hughes makes a great 3 disk converter!

There are a few companies that make a good converter.

Yes there are. But, we've gone beyond the one off the shelf will do anything you need. All the new converters out there are starting where we left off 4 years ago. Yes they will probably hold if built properly.
The question is; after spending a bunch of money to perfect your tunes and get every last bit of power out of your engine; don't you want to dial in the proper converter to get that power to the ground? How much fun do you want to have?;)

Mike is correct! The ones that have been perfected for these applications here have been tested and developed...don't go buying a converter off the rack at a place that just states whatever stall etc Its like when you open a performance catalog and they say "3500" stall for your Chevy 350 some will and some wont stall around that there is a lot of factors that play into this.
