Just was recently shopping around for a larger more efficient trans cooler for my Allison. I came across this web-site, does anyone have input on this product? I would like to prolong the life of my tranny by dropping the temps down a little more while towing my 1oK trailer this dune season.
Thanks

steve, i looked at these coolers, but found a better deal somewhere else. pm me if you want for the site since there not a supporting vendor. You have a allison deep pan correct? transynd? i just got done doing a slow flush with transynd and it dropped me ~15* on my pan guage.
i'll give you a call later tonight..

Thanks Mike,
Can you PM me the specifics on the size etc of this Earls cooler pls.
I just discovered that I don't have the Transynd fluid but the ATF dino in the tranny. I was wondering if there is a specific trans cooler due to the pressures in the Allison. I know Brian has an aftermarket cooler with I believe the 1/2 lines ?? I just want to be sure to get the proper trans cooler for my application. I want to drop operating temps to a safer level without going too cool if there is such a thing. Would I be better off switching out the tranny fluid first to drop the temps before getting a replacement cooler ?

I don't have any specifics on this cooler and am selling it at near cost. You can get some info from Summit. You will have to make your own brackets and switch over fittings from your old cooler. I offer this cooler for the guys on a budget as a DIY. Make sure you keep your old cooler if something goes wrong. Any warranty issues will be handled by the manufacturer and not me.

As a one stop alternative, you still offer the Mike L. coolers as well correct?

Thank for the info. I gonna try out the new Allison deep pan and Transynd first to see what kind of results it yields.

I use to go for things that were cheapest. I am not rich and like my penny to go the furthest. However, now when I spend my money on truck parts I look to see who is going to support me the best after the sale...and some ebay guy isn't it. MikeL's cooler has my vote :thumb:

Price not the issue here, more whether or not I need it at this time. I decided as a start to go with an Allison deep trans. pan and switch over to Transynd since before I had the shallow pan and ATF. I'm only towing a 10K toyhauler (8900lbs actual loaded weight). If I don't see results, the Mike L. cooler will be next.

Mike, if the Earls cooler you sell is in stock I would like to order one just PM me on how to go through with the order. Are the input/output fittings 1/2" npt? Could you provide me the Earls part # for reference I want to be sure that it will fit before finalizing the order. Thanks:thumb:

deep pan wont lower your temps. I dont know why everyone thinks they do. They just make it take longer to get up to temp. 300 dollars for a stupid cast aluminum (that can fracture/shatter if I hit it on a rock) pan that has some ribs cast into it? No thanks. :)
Ill take my mike L cooler any day over that. :thumb: And if I ever feel the need for more fluid capacity, Ill get the factory allison deep pan for 70 bucks.

Don't know how you got yours for 24.00 but no one else can come close to that price. Cheapest I have seen them is 48.00 and as high as 62.00 from the dealer.

OOOPS!! that was a type-O $60 plus tax at the Allison dealer - On-line $$ amount I saw before going to the Allison dealer was $110 plus shipping. What was I thinking with that low $$ figure ???

That's quite understandable. I had a sand car a few years back...keyword is "had" a sand car. Talk about frustration, after three different motors and a minimum of $2000 to fix the cheapest part, I got sick of spending more time wrenching on it then driving. What type of buggy do you have ? We had a Sand Limo four seater w/ a Maxima V-6 twin turbo. Fast car, quite the screamer, but like a child sometimes it would need lots of discipline.):h
