I now have an 06 LLY with 14,000 miles on it. When I turn it off, it makes a squeak sound or maybe a chirp. I think it's the belt, but didn't know if anybody else has this issue.

It is not uncommon for diesels.
The higher compression of the diesel motor causes the motor to stop rotating very quickly, and the momentum of the rotating belt, alternator and other assessories wants to keep rotating, until the belt stops them.
Some say some brands of belts don't chirp.

I've heard they have a fix for it now. Something to do with a alternator clutch or something. Might ask your local dealer.

Yes there is a TSB out for it. It says you can have your alternator change to a clutched alternator. I had it done. No more chirp at shutoff. :thumb:

But does it hurt anything, by makeing it chirp and slip?

Not for sure. But I would think over time it is just going to put stress on it and wear it out faster. IMO

I put some belt dressing on mine and it really helped.
That one-way clutch is neat and pretty expensive looking. It's made in Germany? Go figure. I have the [ forget the code ] 145amp charging option and this came with the pulley already installed from the factory.

The belt tensioner can also cause that kind of problem for you.
