i have a bit of a problem..
I am trying to close the vanes from 300-1000 rpm to make it sound like a jet.
I have loaded it about 3 different times and same results. i have looked at the vane maximum to see if that was the problem but it was not.. :(

What do you want to do that for besides the jet sound? I get enough of that on base everyday but i will definatly want a sound clip posted here if you figure it out.

How is this initially done...just curious how they were adjusted in the first place.

Increase the commanded boost in that range also. That is what drives the vanes to the max position in an attempt to make the commanded boost. If that fails, increase the minimum vane position a little at a time (B2225 I believe)

try "88", 70 is still going to give a little rumble. Need to do it in Maximum and target tables from 0 - 800 rpm, at least thats what is done on the LLY's:)
Like Larry said, try the higher number. On the LMM, different from the LLY, the desired vane table is used exclusively up until about 1200RPM, so messing with desired boost will have little effect other than to set underboost/overboost codes ;).
If you look at the vane tables, min max and desired on a stock LMM file you'll see the settings that cause the 'Jet' sound.
Hope this helps,
Nick

He's got an LBZ. Are these tables the same as LMM? (haven't messed much with LMM tunes :o)
Stop pickin' on me Dave http://deephousepage.com/smilies/blush.gif. I should have said LBZ, but those two operate similarly.
I use the two RPO codes interchangeably for tuning (and I need to stop). :)

ok it works woo hoo!
only thing is, is that i get the dreaded buzzing sound for about 4 seconds...might be why i have my vanes set at 96% closed eh? ):h. backing them down as we speak.

I should play with this on the Cheetah just to see how loud I can get it at idle. Stock on the LLY is 88% closed, I don't think that 96% (or even 100%) should cause a buzz. I prefer the rumble and have mine set to 5% at idle.

Leaving it at 88% it sounds funny - haven't tried closing it any more, just opened it to 5%
