LLY's don't have intake heaters and we have taken them out of many LB7's, LBZ's, and LMM's without any issues. They still fire up just fine and in extremely cold weather you may notice a little more white smoke upon a cold start.

Hey everyone, I was hoping for a little bit of info regarding the deletion of my egr. I know that I will need an EGR delete tube, as well as a set of Towflow up-pipes because I don't really want to put a blocker plate on my up-pipe. But what modifications need to be done to the cooling system to remove the EGR? Is there a kit a guy can buy, or do we just head to the local hardware store and complete the loop? I haven't spent a lot of time looking at the EGR, I usually find myself cursing at it when I do , so I was hoping somebody could help me out with my question.

You can simply splice the 2 hoses together, but it only takes about 20" of 5/8" heater hose and possibly a couple of hose clamps to make it nice.

Is this covered in your instructions?

It's pretty basic on the LBZ. There is a hose coming from the thermostat housing to the EGR cooler, then a hose from the EGR cooler to the heater core (fire wall) remove the cooler and both hoses. Run the roughly 20" piece of 5/8" heater hose from the thermostat housing to the firewall, avoiding any extremely hot surfaces or places where it could chafe, put a clamp on each end and you are done.
On the LMM the supply to the heater core comes from the coolant elbow at the back of the motor on the driver's side - it comes up to the firewall, then over then to the EGR cooler. If you are keeping the stock up-pipes or using tow-flow up-pipes you can simply route straight from this line to the heater core fitting at the firewall. If you are using Cast-Flow manifolds and up-pipes you will also need the LMM coolant nipple, then you can either route soft line all the way to the heater core or tie into the stock line and go from there to the heater core.

And sadly I don't have any instructions for that part yet.

Hey Rick, Dave hear who has the LBZ prototype and found out yesterday that even at an EFI Live 140hp program increase at SJD they could not get black smoke since your bridge was installed. The air flow is SOOOOO increased that my truck runs super clean now and the turbo spools fast and then even after towing my 12k RV for 4+ hours the EGTs get under 350 in less than a minute. I'm told that this is unreal fast but I have seen it several times. Tim at SJD recommended your bridge to another customer while I was there and the truck is in fact on display At SJD's Dyno Days this weekend if anyone want's to see it installed. Thanks fopr the great upgrade. Dave W.
